DOWNTOWN. Four nights of the week are dedicated to an array of live music at this laid-back venue with the feel of a European beer hall. Wednesdays and Thursdays find the best local and national acts pleasing crowds while Friday is much-anticipated live band karaoke night. Backup singers and musicians take the place of a television monitor with scrolling lyrics in Gluek's version of the sing-along favorite. On Saturday nights, a DJ takes over with a mix of rock and pop. Add in a menu of hearty, German-inspired grub and 17 draft beers, and there's something for everyone.

The pub ­ with its warm colors, stone fireplace, flags, banners and artifacts from the Emerald Isle ­ is a Celtic oasis in the middle of urban America. Indulge in a pint of Guinness or a shot of Jameson's whisky, and enjoy the live Irish music. On Sunday game days, Kieran's opens at 5pm, and a special late-night menu is available from Thursday to Saturday after 10pm.

A favorite of downtown professionals, the pub also has an exceptional wine list and makes for a perfect meeting place for friends or associates. Reservations are recommended.

DOWNTOWN. Known for serving its own fresh, homebrewed beers, Rock Bottom delivers camaraderie and coziness in equal measure. Beers, from pale ales to full-bodied stouts, are produced in large copper vats in the middle of the restaurant, which also boasts oak booths and English-style pub signs. The imaginative menu features everything from sandwiches and pastas to steaks. Fantastic for low-key, casual outings.
